Andrew Kao

It was in the midst of a series of doodles during an organic chemistry lecture did Andrew have an epiphany. His attention towards chemistry and the hard sciences had to give way to his fondness for the arts.

With nearly 10 years of experience in architecture, Andrew's experience has led to designs around the globe and through almost all typologies. Rather than turning his attention to the notions of style or aesthetics, he is fascinated by the experience of solving problems and creating subjective experiences with design as the medium.

While architecture is a central focus, the discipline of design is at the heart of all his endeavors including, jewelry, furniture, urban design and masterplanning, industrial design, and architecture.

He has taught at UCLA and served as an invited critic at Columbia University GSAPP, Pratt Institute, UCLA, and WIlliams College.
